as you can see on the attached picture of this post, there is some dirty air filters and
a question that we often get asked by our clients is, When do I really need to replace the air filter?
in order to answer this question, let us start with the definition and purpose of an air filter. An air filter is a fiberglass piece in rectangular or square shape. it helps the Hvac system by filtering the air and trapping any bigger debris from entering the blower section of the equipment.
The air filter gets clogged every time there are people entering and leaving the space, but also how many times doors or windows are opened through-out the day and, the amount of time the system is set to run. Properties where there is lots of traffic and doors and windows are open constantly or for prolonged times, this allows more air from the outside to come into the property and along with this flesh of air coming in, there is also dust (which is not visible by the human eyes). This is when the air filter kicks in action by trapping all the dust or debris by not letting it recirculate in the property.
In summary a good rule of dumb is to replace the air filter every 30 calendar days. Depending on how much clean air you want to breath, replacing the air filter every 20 to 30 days is a good option.
